The LendingTree Home Pros Guarantee covers services performed by our approved home professionals that display the LendingTree Home Pros Guarantee logo (hereafter "Guaranteed Home Pro(s)".)
Please note that many LendingTree home professionals do not display the LendingTree Home Pros Guarantee logo. This does not mean that they are sub-par. Rest assured, all LendingTree home professionals have been checked and re-checked and checked again. But it does mean that the "un-guaranteed" home professionals are either:
In plain English, the LendingTree Home Pros Guarantee ensures that the work you asked the Guaranteed Home Pro to do was done the way you and the Guaranteed Home Pro agreed it should be done. If the work you contracted for was not done right, we'll try to facilitate a good outcome for you and the Guaranteed Home Pro (which might include a return visit by the Guaranteed Home Pro), and if we can't do that, we'll either find and pay for another home professional to do the work right or, at our option, reimburse you up to $10,000 for money you paid the Guaranteed Home Pro for work that was not done right. The LendingTree Home Pro Guarantee also does not cover any expenses other than what you paid to the Guaranteed Home Pro.
To qualify for the benefits of LendingTree Home Pros Guarantee, you must:
Please note that the LendingTree Home Pros Guarantee will not apply to any of the following: (i) equipment, materials, machinery or appliances supplied or used by the Guaranteed Home Pro (though there may be separate warranties/guarantees from manufacturers and/or the Guaranteed Home Pro’s own company that apply); (ii) work performed by the Guaranteed Home Pros outside of what was contracted for in the statement of work or agreement between you and the Guaranteed Home Pro; (iii) services provided by a Guaranteed Home Pro, but not covered by the LendingTree Home Pros Guarantee (i.e. services not displaying the LendingTree Home Pros Guarantee logo at the time the work was performed); and (iv) cases where we, in our sole discretion, deem the customer's claim to be invalid, fabricated, embellished, frivolous, fraudulent or otherwise without commercial merit.
All Guaranteed Home Pros are fully vetted by our proprietary LendingTree Home Pros pre-screened and relentlessly reviewed processes. And all the Guaranteed Home Pros displaying the LendingTree Home Pros Guaranteed logo have explicitly agreed to abide by the high standards set forth by us, including making sure you are completely satisfied with the job(s) you contract with them to perform. We are confident you will be able to work out any differences you may have with one of our Guaranteed Home Pros without our direct involvement, but if you can't, let us know, and we will do our very best to make sure you're fully satisfied.
To let us know about any unresolved issues you have with a Guaranteed Home Pro please call 1-800-936-0883.
Once you contact us, one of our customer service representatives may ask you for all documentation generated in connection with your dealings with the Guaranteed Home Pro. Please have a copy of the statement of work/agreement you entered in to with the Guaranteed Home Pro, any paid receipt/cancelled check and any other relevant documentation generated by you or the Guaranteed Home Pro in the course of your unsatisfactory dealings. We will supply you with a fax number and/or street address where you can send the needed copies once your initial claim has been received. Please note that we will most likely contact the Guaranteed Home Pro to seek their feedback regarding the unresolved, unsatisfactory transaction. This helps you, your fellow consumers and us by identifying potential "bad apple" home professionals.
If your initial claim meets the basic LendingTree Home Pros Guarantee qualifications – and you are unable to resolve things directly with the Guaranteed Home Pro – we will act as a neutral party to help facilitate an amicable solution to the unresolved issues (which might include a return visit by the Guaranteed Home Pro). Our allegiance is to both you and the Guaranteed Home Pro; our aim is to make sure the work is done right. Although we will try our best to help resolve problems, we cannot be held liable or responsible if an acceptable resolution between you and the Guaranteed Home Pro is not reached.
When the processes outlined above are exhausted – if you and the Guaranteed Home Pro have not been able to reach an acceptable resolution – we may, in our sole and absolute discretion, elect to remedy the situation in one of two ways:
If we choose to refer your job to another LendingTree home professional, you agree to cooperate with the appointed LendingTree home professional. Such cooperation includes, without limitation, allowing the LendingTree home professional appropriate access to your home or property, and furnishing the LendingTree home professional with all the necessary information needed to provide us with a qualified opinion as to the nature and extent of the unresolved issues and what it will take to do the job right.
If you have followed the process outlined above, LendingTree Home Pros may decide, in our sole and absolute discretion, to do one of two things: (i) reimburse you up to the maximum LendingTree Home Pros Guarantee amount of $10,000 cash for the work that was done wrong, or, (ii) have LendingTree Home Pros fix the services in dispute, in which LendingTree Home Pros will pay its appointed home professional. LendingTree Home Pros may, in its sole and absolute discretion, determine whether it will remedy the situation by choosing another home professional or paying you up to the maximum LendingTree Home Pros Guarantee amount of $10,000 cash for the work that was done wrong.
We may, on a case-by-case basis, as the facts dictate, in our sole and absolute discretion, waive any or all of the elements needed to qualify for action under the LendingTree Home Pros Guarantee. Every episode of unsatisfactory service has its own story. And, every story has two sides. Our overriding mission is to quickly gather the facts, appeal to the Guaranteed Home Pro’s and the consumer’s sense of reason and fair play, and get the job done right!
